Professor Gamble is one of Britain's leading political economists, best known for his work on the British state, the politics of decline and the rise of neoliberalism, including the landmark The Free Economy and the Strong State.
A Fellow of the British Academy, he is Professor of Politics at the University of Sheffield and Emeritus Professor of Politics at the University of Cambridge, and his work explores how economic crisis shapes political ideas and governing settlements.

Professor Denham is a former Cabinet minister and one of the leading voices on English identity and its place in British politics. Labour MP for Southampton Itchen from 1992 to 2015, he served as Secretary of State for Innovation, Universities and Skills and then for Communities and Local Government.
As Director of the Centre for English Identity and Politics at the University of Southampton, he researches how national identity in England is reshaping elections, governance and the future of the centre-left.
